President – Jenn Zaur

Hi, my name is Jenn Zaur and I am excited to be the new PTO President for the 21-22 school year. Next year I will have a 6th, 4th and 2nd grader at San Tan and a freshman at Higley High (ack!). I have been in education for 21 years first as teacher and for the last eight years at the university teaching future teachers! I have helped support the PTO for many years and am looking forward to leading our PTO and helping to support the needs of our school and community.

VP of Fundraising – Kim Gibson

Hello, my name is Kim Gibson and I am the new VP of Fundraising for the 2021-22 school year! Our girls will be in 5th and 1st grades at San Tan next year. I have a background in nonprofit operations and fundraising both as an employee and volunteer for multiple organizations over the past 15 years. I am very excited to now be a part of PTO and to have the ability to utilize my experience to benefit the administration, teachers and students at San Tan.

VP of Activities – Tina Nerland

I was born in Colorado Springs, Colorado and grew up in Elkhorn Nebraska. We have lived in Arizona since 2002. I live here in San Tan Ranch and have since 2011. My husband and I have been married since 2004 and have two handsome sons, Brolin (6) and Cash (5). Next year I will have a 1st grader and a kindergartener attending San Tan Elementary and taking part in the Spanish Immersion program. I am a REALTOR with ProSmart Realty and have been in the industry for over 20 years. I love to plan events for all ages so naturally when the VP of Activities came up, I knew it would be a great fit. If I am not working with a Real Estate Client, I love to spend time with my family and craft if I have time.

Treasurer – Elba Ramirez

Hello, I am Elba Ramirez! I grew up in Mesa and graduated from ASU with a Bachelors in Special Education + Elementary Education. I left the classroom and stayed home to be with my two kids. My oldest Josue who will be in 2nd grade next year and my daughter Emma, a soon to be Kindergartener. We’re happy and grateful to be here at San Tan in the Spanish Dual Language Immersion program (Y si, yo hablo Espanol!). I believe San Tan has so many amazing things to offer as well as dedicated staff who make it such a great place to learn! I can’t wait to be a part of the PTO to serve as the Treasurer. I look forward to working with this year’s PTO committee members and meeting more families. If you see me feel free to stop and say hello!

Parent/Teacher Liaison – Curt Von Neumann

Hello parents of San Tan Elementary! My name is Curt Von Neumann and I am very happy to be a part of the upcoming and incoming PTO team. Next year I will have four children within the HUSD system; two in the 5th grade, one in 7th grade, and one in 11th. My children and I have been a part of STE for five years and have great appreciation for this school and all of the people which show up daily to make it work as well as it does. I will do all I can to enrich the schooling experience for our children and support the fabulous activities we have planned for our children and parents.

Teacher/Parent Liaison – Christy Ludwig

I am excited to say that 2021-2022 will be my seventh year as a San Tan Scorpion! I will be teaching a new grade level starting this year, and I am thrilled with the opportunity of change. This school year will be my fourth year as the Teacher Liaison because I absolutely love being involved with connecting our school to our community. I am an Arizona native and currently live in Queen Creek with my husband, our 3-year-old son, and our dog. After a wild year, I am looking forward to making this upcoming year great!
